Amsterdam

World-renowned Art and Culture

Amsterdam is a true city of art and culture, one that has been a source of inspiration to many throughout history. Among the fifty museums Amsterdam is home to, a few stand out as some of the world's most renowned.

The many galleries in the city are also definitely worth a visit. A multitude of contemporary works and budding talents are presented here. Most galleries are located in the Spiegelkwartier district, in close vicinity to the Museumplein.

The picturesque city centre of Amsterdam with its charming ring of canals is one of most beautiful urban developments in Europe. Several stately houses were built for wealthy merchants during the boom of the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries. These estates were influenced in large part by French Rococo interiors.

Unique Meeting Places

With a wide variety of cafés, restaurants, lounges, comedy clubs, cinemas and night clubs, Amsterdam offers something for every taste in the area of entertainment. From classic or trendy; from international influence to the traditional Amsterdam found in the Jordaan and Pijp district.

The influence of a variety of cultures can be sampled in the ample choice of restaurants with flavours from all over the world.

Exceptional Accessibility

Schiphol international airport is just 20 minutes distance from the heart of Amsterdam. This airport is considered one of the best in the world, and is easily accessible by train, bus and taxi.

Amsterdam boasts an extensive public transit network. All areas, including the outskirts of the city and the business centre, are easily accessible by public transport. International trains from France, Belgium and Germany travel here on a daily basis.

Due to the city’s compact size, all points of interest are exceptionally accessible from each other. Much can be seen of the city on foot.

Amsterdam is a city of and on the water. Many locations are accessible by boat. Boats are great for touring the city, as well as a means of transportation.
